Benefits

Benefits:

The fine powder is rich in antioxidants, which not only support health, but also have anti-aging benefits.

More energy, better concentration. Matcha contains more caffeine than coffee. The big difference: Matcha has a gentle effect. While caffeine from coffee enters the blood circulation within 30-45, this process takes 6 to 8 hours for Matcha, which is a great advantage. This prevents having an adrenaline rush and insulin being released, which puts the body under unnecessary stress. The high amount of l-theanine and other nutrients also have a positve impact on the nervous and immune system.

Care

All our Cups are dishwasher safe!

100% organic matcha powder, ceremonial grade, 1st harvest

Origin

Where does our Health Bar Matcha come from and how is it grown?

Our tea farm is a traditional company that has been in the family business for several generations and has been producing organic Matcha for several decades. The growing area for the Matcha tea is one of the best and also oldest tea growing areas in Japan: the Uji region, located west of Osaka. The region is known for its clean water and nutrient-rich soil, free from any pesticides. The climate on-site is ideal: the fog from the Uji and Kizu rivers keep the tea plants moist and reduce the risk of frost damage. Tea farmers protect the plants from the sun with black textile sheets or traditionally with straw. Solar panels are also used. This increases the amount of chlorophyll in the leaves and softens the taste. The cultivation is done without pesticides. Soil samples are taken annually, as well as laboratory tests focusing on the heavy metal and radiation exposure, in order to provide the best possible quality. In addition, each batch is carefully checked for its mineral properties. Our quality is verified by strict standards of the organic certification of the Japanese certification body JONA and the German organic certification.

Packaging

Our packaging:

Sustainability is very important to us as a brand.

Our packaging is made from recyclable material and has been awarded with the Interseroh sustainability seal. In addition, for every 100 Matcha packages sold, we donate a tree that is planted with the help of the non-profit organization Eden Project.

Preparation

Preparation:

  1. Put 1 level tsp matcha (2 Chasaku bamboo spoons) in a Matcha Bowl (Chawan).
  2. Add a little bit water (about 30 ml) and stir with the help of a Matcha whisk (Chasen) until creamy ( Z-shaped movements).
  3. Top with the frothed milk and enjoy.

Product properties

Our cups are unique!

  • Color and glaze are applied by hand. Because of the applied glazing process, each piece is unique.
  • Due to being made on the potter's wheel, each shape is a little bit different. We consider these natural variations to be part of its beauty.

Quality guarantee

What does premium quality mean and how can you recognize it? Our organic matcha has a premium quality, which means that the leaves are from the very first harvest in spring. These are particularly mild in taste and have a better quality (taste and color) from all later harvest of the year. Another big difference in quality is that the leaves are harvested and processed by hand. Hardly any machines are used in the harvest of our Matcha. The first leaves are picked by hand, gently steamed and grinded with granite stones. The cultivation is done without the use of pesticides. Annual soil samples and laboratory tests focusing on the heavy metal and radiation exposure are executed to ensure the best possible quality. In addition, each batch is carefully checked on its mineral properties. Our quality is confirmed by strict standards of the organic certification of the Japanese certification body JONA and the German organic certification.

What is matcha?

What is Matcha ?

Matcha is grounded green tea in its purest form, but contains more secondary plant substances ( color, fragrance, and flavor) and is therefore better than conventional green tea.

What makes Matcha powder so healthy is the high content of healthy antioxidants that support the immune system and have anti-aging benefits. Because unlike green tea, where the tea leaves are only brewed in hot water, with matcha you drink the whole grounded tea leaves. This explains the more intensive taste of Matcha.
